Have you ever burn the hell out of yourself that causes a blister but it’s not bad enough to make a hospital run? Those 1st degrees or 2nd-degrees burns sucks and no matter what you do the pain is still there !!! Here is an easy chef trick straight out of the kitchen
Whip out that mustard and apply on that burn!!
Why this works?: Why yellow mustard relieves pain?
Mustard contains a compound called allyl isothiocyanate, which acts as a powerful counter-irritant which can relieve pain after several uses. It also serves as a vasodilator which increased blood flow to the underlying tissue.
The compounds within mustard are like a topical pain relief cream without the cooling effect like Biofreeze. It relieves and drys out the burn to prevent any blisters from forming. This prevents blisters from forming is because mustard does NOT contain water as like aloe or most burn creams have, which when treating an injury is the opposite of what you want to do. You always want to avoid applying any water or water-based creams to prevent a blister from forming.
So, when first applying mustard on a burn, it would sometimes hurt a little bit. It is like putting hydroxide on a cut, of course, it’s going to hurt a bit; however, it is just drying the burn then soon the pain relief will occur.
No matter what thou IT WORKS!!! Trust me I use it all the time.
What to do:
- Find mustard
- Apply mustard on the burn area
- Protect that area with a bandage so the mustard won’t wipe away
- Leave it on for 20 – 30 minutes till you don’t feel pain anymore
- Once no more pain, wash off with cold water and reapply to prevent blistering for 5-10 minutes
- Enjoy the pain-free and blister-free moment and continue cooking!!
